12 steps. ~3 to 6 months. No shortcuts.
Becoming a Bucks Licensee is a multi-month vetting process. We do it this way because the brand is only worth what the worst operator carrying it makes it worth.

Application
~3 days to completeLong-form application: bio, business plan, target territory, financial overview, methodology commitment, references. Submitted via /apply/licensee. Application fee due on submission.

Initial review
1-2 weeksBucks corporate review of your application. Territory conflict check. Background verification. Initial fit assessment. You can be DENIED at this stage with no further commitment from you.

Personality + skills assessment
~1 weekOnline personality assessment (the Buck Operator profile). Practical skills assessment: video submissions of training sessions, written case studies, methodology questionnaire.

Reference checks
Parallel, ~1 weekThree references contacted. Two professional, one personal. We ask specific questions about your training approach, your character under stress, and your ethics.

Shadow day
1 day, on-site at a Bucks locationYou spend a full operating day at an active Bucks location. We watch you handle dogs, interact with clients, run a session. You watch us run our business. Both sides decide if the fit is real.

Spouse / partner interview
~1 hourIf you have a spouse or business partner, we meet them too. Running a Bucks location is a household-scale commitment, and we want to know everyone is aligned.

Financial disclosure + capital review
~3 daysYou share evidence of capital available to fund the licensing tuition + operating ramp. We need to know you can survive the first 12 months without short-cutting the standards under cash pressure.

Final interview
~2 hoursFinal sit-down with corporate. We discuss the offer, the territory, the timeline. You ask anything you need to. Final ACCEPTED / DENIED / DEFERRED decision within 5 business days.

Agreement signing
~1 weekLicense Agreement drafted with your territory + tier + fee schedule. You review with your attorney. Both sides sign. Tuition installment plan kicks off.

Asset grants + provisioning
1-2 weeksYour tenant ERP spins up at {your-slug}.bucksdogtraining.com. Phone numbers provisioned via Twilio. Google Business Profile granted under your operator account. Meta business assets, email accounts, brand kit delivered.

Pre-work + launch readiness
2-4 weeksYou complete the prework checklist: hire your first trainers, get them through Foundations cert, set up your local marketing, finalize your physical space. We coach you weekly.

Activation + Day 1
You go liveBrand audit baseline captured. First QBR scheduled for Q+1. Lead routing turned on. You're Bucks Dog Training of [your city].
If at any point this isn't right…
…either side can step out. You can WITHDRAW from your application up through review. We can DENY at multiple points. Both are normal. The cost of stopping mid-process is much lower than the cost of forcing through a bad fit.
DENIED applicants enter a 6-month cooldown. After that you can re-apply with what changed.
